A poor covering letter may result in your CV not even being read. Any extra information, such as reasons for a career change or reasons for gaps in career history should also be included as required. Include your phone number, even though you have already mentioned it at the top of the letter.
Instead, provide real-life examples that demonstrate all of these skills. For example, if you have more educational achievements than work experience, placing an emphasis on this section is a good idea.
Never lie or exaggerate on your CV or job application. Check your spelling and grammar and make sure your letter is set out clearly and logically. Keep it concise and easy to read by using clear spacing and bullet points. Use a spell checker and enlist a second pair of eyes to check over it.
